Monitor legislative and regulatory activity of exempt organization taxation. Identify issues and recommend legislative and regulatory modifications to simplify and clarify existing laws and regulations. Write comment letters related to current and proposed tax laws, regulatory rules, compliance matters, and tax processes relating to not-for-profits and their tax-exempt or taxable affiliates. Maintain appropriate relationships with the IRS, Treasury, Congress, and other government officials. Collaborate with other organizations as appropriate. Serve as a subject matter expert on not-for-profit taxation for the AICPA conferences team in the planning of relevant conferences. Act as a resource to assist the other committees, technical resource panels and task forces, as appropriate, on matters of exempt organization taxation.
